Belly and Egyptian Dance Teachers
Most Egyptian dance teachers take great pains to ensure that their pupils feel comfortable.
For example, the spraying of the room with rose water mentioned earlier, is such a simple gesture, but one that is always very much appreciated by the students. The pupils feel very ‘looked after’. Of course, you would hope that every dance teacher take so much trouble to put their class at ease but is just isn’t true. So the fact that we have come across a much higher proportion of these caring teachers in Egyptian Dance is encouraging.
Belly and Egyptian Dance Pupils
You’ll see a wild variation of clothing, ages, dancing ability, size, shape and weight in one of these classes – anyone is welcome. If you are a guy doing belly dancing – let us know because we’ve yet to see one in an Egyptian Dance Class! They are out there – just not very many. But, since it is all women – and a beautiful mix of all types of women – there is very little potential embarrassment factor. This dance form seems to attract women who take a totally non-competitive attitude to their dancing. Such a relief!
